Over the past 4 years we have been inundated with requests to provide horse riding lessons at Amaroo. We are pleased to announce that commencing January 2025, we will have on offer weekday private lessons and group sessions on Saturdays.

The Megalong Valley is renowned for being the Horse Haven of the mountains and we are reintroducing riding lessons to the Valley.

If you are looking to build confidence, connect with horses, and develop your riding skills? Our horse riding lessons are the perfect opportunity to learn in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.

Weekday Lessons

1-Hour Private Session: $110 pp

(Couples & Family sessions available)

Private Saturday Group Sessions OR Private Trails/Lessons

2-Hour Group Session: $180 pp

Max. 4 Riders (Must be competent to ride in a group)

Riding Lesson inclusions:

✅ Learn to connect, halter, lead, and groom your horse

✅ Develop riding skills in Western or English disciplines

✅ Gain insights into ethical, relationship-focused horsemanship

✅ Explore horse care essentials: washing, rugging, nutrition, and more!

✅ Use of facilities: barn, round yard, sand arena, and trail obstacles

Feel free to discuss your personal goals with your instructor on your first day.

Trail Riding inclusions: (Intermediate riding level)

✅ Learn to connect, halter, lead, groom and tack up your horse

✅ Trail ride at walk pace

✅ Explore the Amaroo property and surrounds beneath the escarpment of the beautiful Megalong Valley

✅ Walk amongst the friendly Scottish Highlander cattle

✅ Splash in the large dam

✅ Use of facilities: barn, round yard, sand arena, and trail obstacles

Have you always dreamed of learning about horses but never known where to start? Or perhaps it’s been years since you’ve ridden and you’re ready to reconnect with these incredible animals?

Our Amaroo Foundation Horsemanship Groups are designed to help you build confidence, develop practical skills, and enjoy the journey in a fun, supportive environment with like-minded people.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to horses after time away, these sessions will give you the knowledge and confidence to feel at home around horses.

• Learn about tack, horse care and horsemanship

• Small group coaching with experienced instructor Victoria Clutterham.
